The team from the Nou Barris district approaches the International Carnaval Cup with a very clear philosophy: to grow, compete and, above all, enjoy the developmental process.

After the first match on Friday, the side left very positive impressions with a 0-7 victory over Takumi Football Academy, an international training academy that works with young footballers in youth tournaments and grassroots competitions. The match was defined by the dominance of the Barcelona-based team, who showed intensity, organisation and great attacking efficiency from the opening minutes.

Coach Edgar assessed the tournament from a developmental perspective, highlighting the importance of the experience for the players. “In the end, we go game by game. Enjoying the tournament is a very nice experience for the kids. It helps us see the different behaviours of the players depending on the results, but above all that they have fun,” he told the microphones of the International Carnaval Cup.

Beyond the scoreline, the coach focused on the collective and emotional learning of the group, something essential at formative ages. This type of competition allows staff to observe how players react to victory, pressure and the international competitive environment.

From a football perspective, the last match left the coaching staff especially satisfied with the maturity shown by the team on the pitch. Ball circulation and their ability to combine were key to controlling the tempo of the game and spending most of the time in the opponent’s half.

“In this last match I’m very happy, they combined a lot, played with two touches and we had the ball in the opposition half. They were ambitious,” Edgar stated, highlighting the attacking intent and personality shown by his players during the match.

One of the most promising teams in the tournament

The Nou Barris side relies on a playing model based on combination play, space occupation and decision-making, aspects that were clearly reflected in their tournament debut. The big win was the result of a strong collective performance rather than isolated individual actions.

After this promising start, the team will play their second match today at 10:00 against Virginia UTD, aiming to maintain the positive momentum and continue using the Carnaval Cup as an ideal stage for development, coexistence and competitive growth for their young players.
